Job Description

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play an important role in helping the company produce devices of the highest quality for customers all over the world. You will be responsible for producing orders in line with schedules and procedures ensuring that Health & Safety and Quality are not compromised. You will assist with testing and assure a culture of Continuous Improvement is being fostered and shared across the team.

Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety

  • Prioritise your own and your colleague’s Health and Safety obligations and Wellbeing
  • Promote behavioural safety by challenging contrary and unsafe behaviours
  • Proactively identify hazards, provide containment and corrective actions within your own remit. Ensure adequate communication to relevant stakeholders
  • Follow all role-specific Health and Safety procedures including safety checks and PPE requirements

Quality

  • Complete all documents accurately and diligently in line with GMP requirements
  • Follow processes in line with approved documents, escalate any deviations to Manufacturing Manager and/or Quality
  • Record and communicate all process observations/deviations in a timely manner
  • Assist with investigations into operating and process issues to reduce non-conformances
  • Complete required training and maintain own training records
  • Where appropriate, create production procedures/forms ensuring the change control process and approval chain are maintained
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks to quality and provide containment and corrective actions within your own remit

Production Execution

  • Keep the production area and stock area in presentable condition, ensuring all defined cleaning activities are completed in line with relevant procedures
  • Ensure works orders are started and completed in line with the production schedule and in accordance with relevant procedures ensuring the ‘right first time’ approach is maintained
  • Assemble devices, test, configure, pack all products/units effectively to the specified quality standards, HSE and ESD conditions
  • Maintain accurate stock count and complete stock count activity in line with relevant procedures
  • Proactively identify risks to production and escalate to relevant stakeholders
  • Autonomously manage your own workload to ensure delivery to schedule, escalate to Manufacturing Manager any risks to delivery

Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct testing of products returned due to field failures in accordance with procedures
  • Support SCM and RDM with investigating and implementing production-related corrective and preventative actions
  • Assist RDM with prototype building and defining new-build procedures
  • Liaise with R&D/New Product Development and Supply Chain to develop improved manufacturing systems and procedures
  • Proactively seek improvement opportunities related to process, waste, quality, etc.

Skills Required

  • Experience working within a medical device-regulated environment is desirable
  • Electromechanical assembly/PCB soldering, assembly and testing experience desirable
  • Willingness to take ownership and responsibility
  • Solution-focused, reliable team player
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft products
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibile

Training

  • Full training will be given on company software and internal Quality Management System
  • On-the-job training will be provided
  • Health & Safety training
