National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) briefing on NATROX®
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have published a Medtech Innovation Briefing (MIB) document on NATROX® Oxygen Wound Therapy. MIB are designed to support NHS and social care commissioners and staff who are considering using new medical devices or other medical diagnostic technologies by collating and reviewing the relevant information.
The NATROX® briefing focussed on the following aspects:
- The technology
- The innovative qualities of the therapy
- Therapy positioning in care pathways
- Summary of the evidence
Feedback from UK healthcare professionals that have utilised NATROX® in their clinical practice, considered NATROX® Oxygen Wound Therapy to be an innovative technology which in addition to standard care would benefit most people with chronic non-healing wounds.
In particular, NATROX effectively treats a range of chronic wounds, and is more effective than standard care in people with grade 2 and 3 diabetic foot ulcers.
