Raise Healthcare Named UK Distributor for NATROX® Wound Care

Market expansion in UK supports growing demand for continuous topical oxygen therapy for hard-to-heal wounds

[Cambridge, UK – 27 April 2023] – NATROX® Wound Care, a leading provider of innovative wound care technology for the treatment of chronic wounds, has named Raise Healthcare as its exclusive distributor in the United Kingdom. Raise Healthcare is a UK-based specialist medical device distributor known for its extensive portfolio of life-changing products.

“This partnership brings together Raise Healthcare’s experienced team with NATROX®’s innovative wound care therapy,” said Rajesh Nair, Director for Raise Healthcare. “We invest time and resources to understand the needs of patients so we can provide exceptional products such as NATROX® O that positively impact lives every day.”

NATROX® O₂ is available via the UK’s NHS Supply Chain and NHS Shared Business Services, making it easy for NHS staff, publicly funded organisations, hospitals, and wound care clinics to easily prescribe the highly effective therapy.

Chronic, non-healing wounds significantly increase the risk of a patient’s morbidity and mortality. They can lead to scarring, infection, and a reduction in quality of life. They also present a substantial economic burden to healthcare systems.

“Management of wounds costs the UK an estimated £5.3 billion ($6.52 billion USD) annually, which is paid for by the state, with further financial burden due to health-related productivity loss,” according to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).1

The UK wound care management market is expected to rise in the coming years due to an expanding geriatric population, more incidences of chronic wounds, and a steady increase in the number of surgeries. Additionally, “the diabetic population is likely to grow in the UK, which is anticipated to drive the market for wound care management devices,”² according to Mordor Intelligence, a market advisory firm. “Nearly one-third of the diabetic population develops foot ulcerations requiring wound care within a year of diagnosis.”³

Among the products Raise Healthcare will distribute is NATROX®’s portable medical device NATROX® O₂. The device generates and delivers oxygen directly to a wound to stimulate and accelerate healing, often allowing patients to be treated at home.

Rajesh Nair of Raise Healthcare said choosing to collaborate with the NATROX® brand was an easy decision. “For anyone who has experienced the pain and frustration of slow-healing or complicated wounds, NATROX® O₂ will bring a renewed sense of hope. We’ll now offer a proven solution that can bring relief and healing to those who need it most. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on patients’ lives.”

“We’re excited to offer our wound care products to the people of the UK,” said David Fernández, EMEA & LATAM Sales Director of NATROX® Wound Care. “Our mission is to transform the lives of patients suffering from hard-to-heal wounds. Raise Healthcare has the expertise and relationships with hospitals to quickly get our products into the hands of wound care professionals working directly with those patients who so desperately need relief from their misery. We believe everyone deserves their best chance to heal.”
