Inotec AMD Ltd Appoints Craig Kennedy as New CEO
[Cambridge, UK – 2 March 2018] Cambridge-based Inotec AMD Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Kennedy as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 3 March 2018. Inotec manufactures a portable medical device designed to heal chronic, hypoxic wounds which affect millions worldwide every year. The wound care market is projected to grow to $18.3 billion globally in 2019, driven in part by changing lifestyles and ageing populations in many countries. There are roughly 400 million diabetes sufferers around the world, and about 60 million of them are likely to develop a lower limb ulcer. Because more than 90% of wounds lack adequate oxygen to fully heal, NATROX® is designed specifically to addresses this serious concern. It offers a simple, cost-effective application to treats a broad spectrum of chronic wounds.
Kennedy brings a proven track record of building business in the wound care space. Most recently, he was CEO of MolecuLight, a Toronto, Canada based wound care startup that developed and launched an imaging device capable of detecting bacteria in wounds. Prior to MolecuLight, Craig was VP of Business Development and Strategy for Systagenix and was a key member in the divestiture of that business to Acelity. Craig has over 25 years of progressive experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry.
Dr Adrian Parton MBE, Chairman of Inotec AMD said, “The Board of Directors are pleased to bring Craig onboard as CEO. We believe his extensive global experience in the wound care market will drive the company’s growth and help raise awareness about our novel oxygen therapy products worldwide”.
Kennedy commented, “I’m excited to lead the Inotec team during this exciting time. NATROX® has huge potential to positively impact millions of people living with debilitating chronic wounds. The industry is ripe for the introduction of a clinically effective active therapy designed to transform the lives of those suffering from non-healing wounds.”
Inotec continues to develop a world-class team and is preparing to launch its product in the United States in 2018.
