Accelerating Healing in a Chronic Venous Leg Ulcer with NATROX® O₂
This case study features a 76-year-old male with a 54-week venous leg ulcer (VLU) on the inner aspect of his right leg. His medical history included venous insufficiency, atrial fibrillation, psoriasis, and osteoporosis — all contributing factors that increased the risk of skin breakdown and ulcer recurrence.
Despite 12 months of standard care, including compression bandaging, antimicrobial creams, silver alginates, collagen, and amniotic tissue grafts, the wound failed to improve. After a full assessment (ABI 1.01), the patient began NATROX® O₂ Continuous Topical Oxygen Therapy alongside compression.
Within 3 weeks, granulation tissue appeared, and the wound showed measurable reduction. By week 9, complete wound closure was achieved.
This case demonstrates how NATROX® O₂ effectively supports chronic venous ulcer healing by enhancing oxygenation, strengthening skin integrity, and complementing standard compression treatment.
